What You'll be Doing

We are looking for a Nurse Assistant to join our healthcare team at Dorset House. The position will be working very closely with the Nurse in Charge, assisting with medications and clinical responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience of medications, and working directly with a nurse in a similar environment. • To fully assist the Nurse on Duty and work under their guide always reporting and checking on all aspects throughout the shift • To take handover from shift exiting the Home and ascertain prior to their leaving that there have been no accidents, incidents during the night time and that all the Service Users are safe and accounted for • To take a lead role and assist in care provision in all aspects of the service users assessed needs including the weighing process, recording and monitoring the weight into the individual Record of Weight Charts • Monitoring bowel charts, general observations and all other relevant documentation relating to the service users’ health and wellbeing along with the Carer’s Notes • To support, monitor, and mentor staff in the provision of the personal care needs of the service users e.g. bath bedding, pressure area, mouth care and eye care • To support the nurse and administrator in the admission and discharge of new service users • Help residents use the bathroom • Clean and bathe residents • Maintain resident's hygiene and change bedding • Turn, reposition and move residents between wheelchairs, chairs and beds • Help serve meals and help residents eat their food
