Gwen Walford Retain ‘Good’ Rating Following CQC Review

Gwen Walford Nursing Home on Hampton Park Road in Hereford is pleased to announce it has been reviewed as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following a review published earlier this month. This confirms that the home retains its full inspection conducted in February 2020 in which Gwen Walford was rated as ‘good’ overall, and ‘good’ across all five key lines of enquiry: ‘safe’, ‘effective’, ‘caring’, ‘responsive’ and ‘well-led’.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) are the independent regulator of health and adult social care in the UK, ensuring that fundamental standards of quality and safety are upheld. Following a full inspection, a report is published outlining any good practice or areas of concern, providing ratings to inform users on how good the service is.

Vicky Craddock, the Chief Operating Officer at Rotherwood Healthcare, which operates the home, praised the team at Gwen Walford, commenting:
“We are immensely proud of the staff and management at Gwen Walford for their ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care for the residents. This recent ‘good’ review from the CQC will continue to reassure our residents, their families and staff of the high-quality care delivered and maintained at the home.”
