Rotherwood Healthcare - Roden Hall Care Home Roden Hall Care Home is located within 3 acres of grounds in the picturesque village of Roden in Shropshire, Roden Hall has been designed and built entirely with individual lifestyle needs in mind with 68 beautifully appointed suites furnished to the highest specification. Our newly built Roden Hall Care Home in Telford provides exceptional residential care in a luxury setting. Are you someone who wants to make a real difference to the lives of others? We're looking for a Head Chef to work 40 hours per week / 5 days per week. Weekends would be required every so often. You must have NVQ Qualifications and a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate, along with 2 years experience working at Sous Chef level or equivalent. Experience of working in the care sector would be an advantage. Hourly rate- £12.50-£13.50 per hour (DOE) The role of the Head Chef is to prepare and serve high quality nutritious meals and food within the required deadlines and to the company’s set standards and customers satisfaction. To work within the catering operating budget using company nominated suppliers, whilst maintaining high standards and aspire and promote the Rotherwood Values. What You'll be Doing

To monitor and maintain consistent food standards and quality across all areas and during all stages of production and supply To manage the HACCAP and cleaning procedures, COSHH in accordance to the company’s Food Safety Management document To ensure quality control measures and food hygiene systems are achieved at all times To manage the day to day running of the kitchen service To purchase all food, food related products and cleaning materials from company nominated suppliers. To achieve food budget cost controls, ensuring minimum wastage within the home To actively participate in the ongoing management and development of menus, including costings, dysphagia diets and allergens To manage kitchen staff rotas and manage their daily workload To dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with the Company guidelines That all equipment is kept to a high standard of cleanliness paying attention to guidelines in place for infection control Check to Protect o Adhere to Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations Always be mindful of the safety of residents, visitors and work colleagues particularly COSHH and Safe Handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and the moving and handling of heavy equipment Report any hazards to health and safety, in the kitchen, communal areas, service areas (i.e. trailing wires, wet floors and broken equipment) and report any building maintenance, faulty equipment, to the Registered Home Manager Accidents to be reported in accordance with the Policies and Procedure Manual and the Registered Home Manager To undertake such other duties appropriate to the post and the needs of the organisation in order to develop and maintain service delivery. However, the organisation will always be mindful to ensure that these duties are not so onerous as to prevent the Head Chef from fulfilling their role Uniform – Uniforms and protective clothing will be worn in accordance with the Policies and Procedures and Health & Safety Regulations and the Head Chef must always be well presented To work in conjunction with All Staff teams to ensure that the resident’s needs are well catered for To maintain flexibility with rotas and working hours and be able to work shifts, evenings and weekends as required To attend meetings as part of the Quality Control Systems of the Home and to maintain and keep up to date with all training as required o To abide by the Homes Policies and Procedures To show respect to our resident’s and their possessions and other members of staff always To abide by your Contract of Employment Maintain flexibility with rota’s and changes to encompass new changes in Regulations To be professional, creative and to want to be an energetic team player with the ability to communicate effectively and with experience of being able to work in a busy kitchen
