Roden Hall Care Home is located within 3 acres of grounds in the picturesque village of Roden in Shropshire, Roden Hall has been designed and built entirely with individual lifestyle needs in mind with 68 beautifully appointed suites furnished to the highest specification. Our newly built Roden Hall Care Home in Telford provides exceptional residential care in a luxury setting. Are you someone who wants to make a real difference to the lives of others? Care Assistants work as part of the team to provide individual care to each resident, making sure that everyone can retain as much dignity and independence as their situation allows. Under supervision, and within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, you will be involved in a wide range of duties and will play a very important role in creating a happy and caring environment. A flexible approach, a positive attitude to challenges and a respect for the reputation of the care home are essential characteristic of the ideal candidate. The roles we have available are for days or nights on a bank contract from 08:00am until 20:00pm or 20:00pm until 08:00am. What You'll be Doing

Whilst there are a wide range of activities which you will undertake as a Care Assistant, the over-riding requirement of the role is to make a real difference to the day-to-day lives of those living within the home. Whilst giving each resident the degree of assistance they require with meals, general hygiene and personal care, you will also help them to remain as active and independent as possible. Assisting with health and mobility issues is important, but so too is the ability to laugh, be engaging, encourage physical exercise and spark mental stimulation through participation in fun-filled activities and the exploration of new hobbies and interests. Working as part of a team, you will have a totally flexible approach and will ensure that individual care plans are implemented to achieve every person’s unique goals within the most caring and homely of environments. General Responsibilities: - To assist residents in washing, dressing and undressing. - Using the toilet such as emptying urinary catheter bags/incontinence pads - Assisting with eating/feeding - Utilising equipment to move residents when necessary - Helping tidy the residents room - Talking to residents and reassuring them - Assisting nurses and other staff when needed - Adhering to professional standards You'll need: - Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations - Sensitivity and understanding, with the ability to respect each resident's dignity and sense of independence - Stamina and physical fitness, as this is a physically demanding job - To be thorough and pay attention to detail - Practical skills and a willingness to do messy tasks - The ability to work well with others - The ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure - The ability to work well with your hands - Excellent verbal communication skills - Customer service skills
