Head Housekeeper - Lynhales Hall

Lynhales Hall is set in seven acres of woodland close to the historic Herefordshire village of Lyonshall, Lynhales Hall Nursing Home built around a stunning, two-storey 16th Century Manor House is home to up to 65 residents. We are actively seeking a Head Housekeeper to join our Housekeeping Team working 40 hours per week / 5 days per week. Weekends will be required every so often. What You'll be Doing

The role of the Head of Housekeeping is to Lead, Manage and be Accountable for the quality of life and wellbeing of our residents by ensuring their home is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas within the luxurious surroundings. To Lead Manage and be Accountable to the Home Manager and to Support them within their role. Ensuring that the privacy and dignity of our residents is respected always. Leading, Managing and being Accountable (LMA) for the Housekeeping Team, which includes Housekeeping and Laundry. Manage the Purchasing of cleaning consumables within the agreed generous budget to ensure the home has a luxury environment. Manage the housekeeping and laundry teams rotas ensuring that skill mix and weekly hours are in budget and delivery of the luxury environment. Promote the wellbeing and quality of life of the residents and respecting their independence and right of choice. Ensure the standards of cleanliness within the home Environment are of a high standard with no malodours and as expected of a Luxury Environment. To ensure the cleanliness of the residents’ individual rooms including all fabric, furniture, carpets, and equipment. To clean sanitary and other equipment paying attention to guidelines in place for infection control and Check to Protect and in conjunction with the Homes Cleaning Schedules and to dispose of waste in accordance with guidelines and policies and procedures. Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and work colleagues particularly COSHH and Safe Handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and the moving and handling of heavy equipment. Report any hazards to health and safety to residents and or staff, in communal areas, service areas and individual rooms (i.e., trailing wires, wet floors and broken equipment) Accidents to be reported as indicated in the Policies and Procedure Manual Any areas requiring maintenance will be reported, including blown light bulbs, scuffed wallpaper and paint and damaged furniture and equipment, and recorded into our Bespoke Matron System. To provide support to the laundry department when required and keep up to date on relevant laundry procedures. To dispose of waste in accordance with guidelines and policies and procedures. Report any buildings maintenance, faulty equipment, furniture, or concerns to the Home Manager immediately ensuring that these are then recorded into our Matron System. To undertake such other duties appropriate to the post and the needs of the organisation to develop and maintain service delivery. Uniform – Uniforms and protective clothing will need to be always worn and to consider COVID/Bridge Card Policy and Procedures that will be updated in line with Government guidance and changes. To attend meetings as part of the Quality Control Systems of the Home To show respect to our resident’s and their possessions and other members of staff always. Lead Manage and be Accountable for your Staff Team Mandatory Training expectations to ensure that they are fully up to date in a timely manner all as per the Homes Training Matrices. Lead Manage and be Accountable for your Staff Team Supervisions and Appraisals all to be completed in a timely manner and as per the Homes Training Matrices.
