As well as 68 beautifully appointed suites furnished to the highest specification, there is a theatre and cinema room, café, pub, library areas, and hair & nail salon in which residents can choose to socialise and spend their all-important leisure time. Dining too is a personalised experience, with enticing menus enjoyed in both formal and informal settings – even outdoors on the terrace. Dedicated Lifestyle Coordinators organise a wide range of activities for all tastes and abilities, and for those wishing to attend appointments or meet with friends in town, there’s also a chauffeur-driven Mercedes available to ensure arrival in style! Award-winning Rotherwood Healthcare is looking for you. We’re looking for a Kitchen Assistant who ideally has a passion to work in care and with the elderly. Pay- £10.57 per hour ABOUT YOU You'll need to be enthusiastic, empathetic, and have good practical skills to join us within the kitchen team. Just as importantly, you should be reliable and keen to use your attention to detail to make a positive difference. You will make the home a home that people feel proud of. You will have previous experience working within catering or a similar environment, and ideally hold an NVQ in Hospitality and Catering. You must be able to work across seven days. Overtime will also be available to cover sickness/annual leave. What You'll be Doing

Our Catering Team requires a Kitchen Assistant who will be responsible for: - To help prepare, and serve high quality meals centered on resident’s preferences considering any special dietary and allergen requirements. - To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements, including Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), Health & Safety, Manual Handling, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Food Safety and Food Hygiene, have a clear understanding of Infection Prevention and Control policies, procedures, and measures to maintain a safe environment throughout the home. - Monitor and maintain kitchen cleaning schedules ensuring that all areas of the kitchen are immaculately clean; including the washing up of crockery and utensils when required. - Help to ensure sufficient food stocks are received, and controlled through Rotherwood Healthcare approved suppliers and that effective stock management is maintained, including the completion of monthly stock takes to reduce food wastage to a minimum. - Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, ensuring any damage or faults are reported to the Head Chef. - To be an active member of Roden Hall, contributing to team meetings, and assist the Head Chef & Home Manager.
