Who are we? Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford are nestled along the picturesque riverbanks of the river Wye, just a stone’s throw away from the heart of Hereford. Hampton Grange/Gwen Walford are situated in a calm residential area and is home to 64 residents. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual who naturally shares our values, to join our home management team as a Head Chef. The Role: As a member of the home management team, you will lead, manage and be accountable for the kitchen team to achieve and maintain an exceptional dining experience for our residents. You will be expected to create enticing menus, ensuring food standards are a high priority and consideration is given for specific dietary needs. You will have the overall responsibility for ensuring the kitchen is managed effectively, overseeing a suitable rota to ensure the food standards within the home remain high, have varied choices, and make each mealtime an enjoyable experience. Key Responsibilities: · Provide guidance and mentoring to the kitchen team, complete regular supervision and appraisals, manage annual leave requests effectively based on entitlement and business need. · Manage any outstanding training requirements and encourage development opportunities. · Manage and oversee the preparation and delivery of breakfast, lunch, evening meal and snacks for all residents within your designated home. · Create, manage and change the menu, considering individual choices and dietary needs for all residents. · Ensure the food prepared is wholesome and nourishing according to the individual needs of each resident. · Oversee food storage and rotation, adhering to all health & safety and environmental health regulations. · Overall management of the allocated kitchen budget. About You: You will have the ability to manage a small team, ensuring the exceptional dining experience is achieved and maintained. You will have previous experience as a Head Chef or have the necessary skills and experience to take the next step into this role. You will hold a formal catering qualification and be capable of planning nutritious meals, considering specific dietary requirements and have an understanding of IDDSI modified foods. Your previous experience will come with knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and Health & Safety protocols. You will be personable, enthusiastic and passionate about the food you plan, prepare and serve to our residents.
