Head Chef - Hampton Grange/Gwen Walford
Reporting to the Registered Manager, the person who fills this role will be responsible for the preparation of breakfast, lunch, suppers and snacks (dependent on shift worked). As well as the preparation of meals, the Chef/ Cook will be expected to liaise with the Registered Manager to put together a monthly menu which will fulfil the nutritional needs and dietary preferences of the individual residents.
What You'll be Doing
Whilst the preparation and presentation of meals constitutes the main part of this role, there is also a requirement for a deep knowledge and understanding of general health and nutrition. The construction of a monthly schedule of meals will involve working closely with the Registered Manager and will demand confidence in the ordering of food and the management of its delivery. Complete compliance with all matters relating to Health & Safety is also a must, specifically in relation to food hygiene, cleanliness of working areas, food preparation techniques etc. The Chef/ Cook will also be expected to work in conjunction with Nursing staff to ensure every resident’s specific needs are catered for and will attend meetings with clients and staff as part of the home’s overall Quality Control system. There may also be a requirement to supervise and mentor Kitchen Assistants and contribute to their training and development.
