Kitchen Assistant- Lynhales Hall

Rotherwood Healthcare - Lynhales Hall Nursing Home- Kington Lynhales Hall is a specialist Dementia Nursing Home located near to a small village called Kington. Lynhales Hall Nursing Home provides exceptional residential and nursing care to over 70 residents. Are you someone who wants to make a real difference to the lives of others? Hourly rate- £10.57 per hour Hours- 20 hours per week from 08:30am until 14:00pm with a 30 minutes unpaid break each day. You will be on a rolling rota of 4 days on 4 days off so weekends would be required as and when they fall on your rota. You must be able to work across seven days. Overtime will also be available to cover sickness/annual leave. ABOUT YOU You'll need to be enthusiastic, empathetic, and have good practical skills to join us within the kitchen team. Just as importantly, you should be reliable and keen to use your attention to detail to make a positive difference. You will make the home a home that people feel proud of. You will have previous experience working within catering or a similar environment, and ideally hold an NVQ in Hospitality and Catering. What You'll be Doing

Our Catering Team requires a Kitchen Assistant who will be responsible for: - To help prepare, and serve high quality meals centered on resident’s preferences considering any special dietary and allergen requirements. - To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements, including Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), Health & Safety, Manual Handling, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Food Safety and Food Hygiene, have a clear understanding of Infection Prevention and Control policies, procedures, and measures to maintain a safe environment throughout the home. - Monitor and maintain kitchen cleaning schedules ensuring that all areas of the kitchen are immaculately clean; including the washing up of crockery and utensils when required. - Help to ensure sufficient food stocks are received, and controlled through Rotherwood Healthcare approved suppliers and that effective stock management is maintained, including the completion of monthly stock takes to reduce food wastage to a minimum. - Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, ensuring any damage or faults are reported to the Head Chef. - To be an active member of Lynhales Hall, contributing to team meetings, and assist the Head Chef & Home Manager.
