Health Care Assistant - Dorset House Nursing Home

We are currently seeking a dedicated individual who naturally shares our values, to join our care team as a Healthcare Assistant. The Role: You will work under the guidance and direction of the person in charge, delivering a quality care service for the residents in our home, providing individualised, person-centred care in a happy, homely environment. You will have a deep understanding and respect for the dignity of each resident, promoting their health and well-being at all times. Shift times are predominantly 08.00 – 20.00 (days) or 20.00 – 08.00 (nights). Key Responsibilities: • Assist residents with washing, toileting, dressing/undressing, and all aspects of personal care. • Support residents who have limited mobility, using the necessary equipment provided. • Ensure a positive mealtime experience and assist with eating/drinking with dignity & kindness. • Provide encouragement and motivation to ensure day to day resident health and well-being. • Respond to call bells in a timely & professional manner and provide the required assistance. • Maintain accurate records of the care provided and document/report any evident changes. • Follow handover instructions, supporting the person in charge to ensure an efficient shift. About You: You will have a genuine passion for care and supporting the elderly. An excellent communicator with a kind and patient manner. You will have the ability to work well within a team but also individually when required. Experience of working in a care home environment would be an advantage but not essential as we will provide you with the training and knowledge required if you have the relevant people qualities and share our core values.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Manager to join our award winning care group, who naturally shares our vision and values. The Role: As the Registered Manager of a Rotherwood care home, you will lead, manage and be accountable for your eight-seat management team. You will oversee the day to day operations within your designated home, providing support and leadership to your team. You will work closely with the Regional Manager and Chief Operating Officer to deliver business performance and quality targets. You will have a strong focus on the care, compliance, and high quality service, ensuring the safe working practices of your staff and the quality care delivery for your residents. Key Responsibilities: · Ultimately responsible for the effective, safe, and appropriate care delivery for each resident and for ensuring the home supports individuality and promotes quality and safety at all times. · Ensure home enquiries are followed up in a timely manner and the home visit process runs smoothly and effectively, followed by an assessment when applicable. · Effectively manage relationships with residents, relatives, third party professionals and individuals within the local community. · Fully assist with CQC, LA, EHO inspections and ensure any required actions are planned effectively and executed as required and in accordance with any regularity requirements. · Day to day staff management, e.g., completing probation, supervision, appraisals, return to work meetings. Effectively manage annual leave, training requirements, sickness absence, and ensure recruitment activity/interviews are prioritised for vacancies within your home. · Assess and maintain the correct number of staff based on occupancy by having clear visibility and understanding your care needs versus staff ratio. · Maintain control of the budgetary spend within the home through regular monitoring, ensuring the home remains financially sound.
